DEWALT 4-1/2-Inch Angle Grinder , Paddle Switch, 11-Amp

DEWALT 4-1/2-Inch Angle Grinder , Paddle Switch, 11-Amp (DWE402)

If you have gone through a few cheaper angle grinders, (and you know what I mean) why not step up to the plate and buy a worthy tool.

This DeWalt 4 and 1/2 inch grinder cuts through the competition like butter. It also has extra amperage which makes this thing chew through metal or wood with the right disk on it.

It’s very well built, has very low vibration and is a powerhouse of a tool. The guard is adjustable so you can rotate it where you need it and can remain working safely without removing it to get into certain areas of your project.

It works ABOVE AND BEYOND what it was designed for and you will love it. Especially if you’ve been using the cheaper grinders on the market today. I’ve seen many burn up or melt the cords right off . Some even catch fire when you work them a little too hard, very unsafe and scary even. It takes awhile before heating up this grinder. It’s also easy to change wheels with the thumb lock.

You’ll never worry about your Dewalt. It’s a monster of a grinder and it’s more than enough for what most people need. It’s very well constructed, very strong and with metal cutoff wheels it has no problems cutting through 1/4″ steel, It is a little heavy for a 4 1/2″ grinder but its power makes up for the weight

Absolutely best Dewalt 4.5″ grinder compared to other Dewalt grinders. I think and I have 3 Dewalt grinders. All 3 are great tools, but this one is my favorite. And Yes, it’s made in the USA

Here is some more info.

Rockwell Jaw Horse Review

Posted by kevin doherty on August 29, 2018 at 2:20 PM Comments comments (0)

When I first started woodcarving for many years I struggled.

Not with the carving part itself so much, but with how to hold the bigger pieces I wanted to work on.

You see,  a smaller piece wasn't really a problem since I could hold it in my hand. And a medium sized piece well, lets face it, they make plenty of vises and holders for that. Heck even a board and some screws would do the trick in most cases.

But when I started chainsaw carving and doing more cabinets and woodworking I needed to hold much biger pieces, sometimes whole logs or slabs of wood 6 foot long and larger. Now it became a problem to hold these things securely and still have a stable support that remained safe.

For instance I like to carve chainsaw owls but the logs aren't that big for my average bird, they where also too small to stand on their own and carve with a chainsawThey would fall over or zip right out from under the blade when it touched them (Very Dangerous).

Then I discovered a handy little item from reading reviews like this one and it's called the Rockwell JawHorse Portable Material Support Station – RK9003   and I gotta tell ya "it changed my world"
I can hold anything with it and it won't budge, from logs, to plywood, giant slabs for benches, pretty much anything. You can see me show it in the video here but I will do a better review on it in the future. I was just exited in this video because I thought it was the coolest thing ever. I was so happy with it I bought 2 of them. Here's the video

I definately recommend this product ...That's my opinion.  You can get one here!

Teds Woodworking Plans (Review)

TedsWoodworking 16,000 Woodworking Plans Review

Hello Fellow Wood Carvers and wood workers.Have you ever gone out to your shop and wanted to create something cool but ended up not knowing what to make?

I hate that! Don't you? Or am I the only one who does that?

Anyway, I have all the tools I need, I could really make anything that I wanted. Sometimes I just can't think of what that one project would be LOL.

Well, I just came across a site with over 16,000 downloadable woodworking plans, its called Teds Woodworking Plans and I don't think I'll ever be at a loss for something to make ever again.

So, I thought Id give an honest review of this site, Here we go...

First of all, If you want to start a woodworking project, you will need alot of information, such as schematics, blueprints, a list of materials you'll be using, dimensions etc right?

So I checked out TedsWoodworking. I found the the plans to be clearly drawn and there're step-by-step explainations of how the plan should be done and put together are pretty clear.

Many other sites have collections of plans but the dimensions are totally wrong or they don't even include a parts list, material list or the tools you will need. If you're one of those people who have bought plans like this in the past, TedsWoodworking will change your perception.

With Ted's Woodworking you will get everything you need:

-Detailed Diagrams with a full set of dimensions

-Step -by-step instructions on how to start your project

-The necessary materials for that particular project

-All the woodworking tools you will need

If you are a beginner or have done some woodworking you will find these plans easy-to-follow because the instructions are very clearly written. The woodworking plans are pretty straightforward and not complicated at all. Even if you are a total newcomer to woodworking you can master all the techniques that are needed and develop the woodworking skills very quickly by following the instructions.

Another thing which is so great about these is that there are some videos included , some to guide you in how to build benches, home furniture, dog houses, bird feeders, sheds and much much more.

You also get a lifetime membership acess included in the package, and you get it no cost to you as they are free with no additional charges at all! This alone is worth the entire price for the plans.

Ted Mcgrath is a very dedicated and experienced woodworker who knows what he is talking about when it comes to woodworking and DIY projects s he has been a woodworker for many many years.

There is only one drawback that I could find and it was with 16,000 woodworking plans you are bound to get some which look a little disorganized but that is understandable as it is very difficult to place all these plans into their proper categories. Secondly, it might take you a little longer to do the all thr downloads because of the size of them. But the members area does include an option to upgrade to the DVD so you can save time on downloading.

Bottom line:

Truth is, I've been a carver and woodworker for what seems like forever, and I haven't found anything like this for less than 10's of thousands of dollars. Here's the bottom line: If you are planning to start on your woodworking project or shop, this isn't something you SHOULD use, it's something that you would be Insane not to use. That's my opinion.

Can You Make Money Woodcarving?

Posted by kevin doherty on August 28, 2018 at 1:35 PM Comments comments (2)

Can you really make money with your woodcarving?

Well, the answer is Yes.

But not without learning how to do at least decent quality work.

Sometimes you can hit just the right niche and that's all you need as long as your skills are good enough to produce a recognizable carving.

Wood spirits for instance like I like to carve are great sellers almost anywhere, they have many ways you can utilize them once you can carve them decent enough to sell.

For instance you can put them on

Bottle stoppers, walking sticks, canes, wall hangings, knife handles, almost anything made of wood.

Here are some examples and places to sell your work. is a great place you can open your own shop and sell. is a great place to move woodspirits on a regular basis.

Flea Markets are always a great selling place where people get wowed everytime they see your carvings.

Art shows and craft shows sell well.

Make your own website and drive traffic to it such as

These are just a few ways to move your carvings.

Being a good business person is most of the work, the carving is the fun part. That's My Opinion

Furniture Craft Plans

Posted by kevin doherty on Comments comments (0)

What Is FurnitureCraftPlans All About?

The package contains over 9,000 premium woodworking furniture and

craft plans that you can easily follow at home. These projects

cover a variety of different projects you can work on at home; -

mostly focusing on furniture and small crafts.

It contains all the necessary info which includes drawing out clear

diagrams, accurate dimensions and gave detailed explanations on the

plans design .

We think this is extremely important because we have seen plenty of

free woodworking plans (or pay) on other sites that are created

Some have inaccurate dimensions, some did not explain what exactly

tools are needed during the woodworking process while some only

provide the diagrams without proper step by step instructions

on how to do it. You know what I mean if you've paid for those

lousy woodworking plans in the past.

Well fortunately, these flaws and mistakes are hardly be seen

in FurnitureCraftPlans

The good stuff:

- All materials and tools needed for a start are properly listed.

- Diagrams are clear and with accurate dimensions.

- Photos are also included; nothing was left to the imagination.

- Detailed explanation of plans will guide you from the scratch

to the end.

- All is ready to be printed with proper categorization

Bad stuff:

Only thing I could complain about is that there are too many plans

after downloading and sometimes you can feel overwhelmed. But as you

can imagine, it is difficult to go through over 9,000 plans.

My suggestion is to focus on the projects you want to work with first.

As it is categorized, all you need to do is to search and/or go to the

category you want. Eg: I started with a simple birdhouse so I went to

the "outdoor small crafts" section to look for related plans.

In Conclusion:

I highly recommend this package if you enjoy working with wood. It

offers fantastic value for money. The woodworking plans are not

complicated, they are straightforward and extremely easy to follow .

Even a complete newbie is able to master the woodworking skills and

techniques within minutes by following the clear and concise

One thing I really enjoy are the free updates. From what we've seen,

they are consistently updating their members' area with new woodworking

plans, all for free without additional charges.

As of writing today, the site is giving away a free bonus called

"Woodworking Made Easy". So if you want to grab the free offer, click
